Objective: :

Strengthening the process of efficient planning and implementation of poverty reduction, maternal and child health & pre and primary education programmes by enhancing the capacity of the local government.
Raising people awareness and improve their participation in development activities and governance processes
Developing regional / state / district level networks of CSOs /NGOs for taking up advocacy on the Millennium Development Goals.

Some Results:

? More than 571 women make the local government (Panchayati Raj Institution) accountable by giving 30 deputations on issues related to health-education and improving the living conditions in their locality.
? Panchayat members and staff are supportive to the issues JGVK focuses on. Visible collaboration between govt. & NGO seen, especially NGO workers are participating in all Panchayat level meetings
? 2 GPs draw up 2 MOU allowing 110 SHGs to take their land in lease and plant saplings, maintain them and determined the share of the sale during auction
? 3683 people were motivated to demand their entitlements from the PRI like job cards; ration cards; widow pension; SASFAU; NFBS and other insurance and social security schemes.
? More & more people found to be accessing government schemes
? 1332 people access job cards under MGNREGS.
? 135 women start fish farming following trainings given by JGVK.
? 514 women were motivated to start kitchen gardens in their backyards.
? 143 families motivated to begin animal husbandry.
? 650 SHGs motivated to take training from Horticulture department on vermi-compost and start it in their backyard.
? More than 1527 animals were vaccinated through advocacy with the Block Livelihood Development Officer.
? 30 women motivated to take skill up gradation training prior to their involvement in cottage industry.
? 11 severely malnourished children were identified and referred for treatment.
? 100 people were motivated to use contraceptives.
? 84 pregnant mothers were encouraged to register under Janani Suraksha Yojana.
? 5 new ICDS centres were set up and infrastructure of 3 improved due to advocacy.
? 34 children enrolled to the ICDS
? 35 school drop outs were re-enrolled in achool.
? Birth registrations of 39 children were completed at the behest of the IEC team.
? 141 students were assisted to access scholarships.
? Early marriages were prevented on 3 occasions.
? 82 effective sansad sabhas take place between Novembers of 2012-13.
? 16623 Voters in 67 sansads of 5 GPs take part in identifying their needs and evolving a plan for their sansad level plan.
