Investments, even if small, are part of the daily life of the rural families in Sundarban. Local people face problems to borrow money and therefore cannot develop their business, ensure food security or pay the doctor bills. In order to cope with this daily life issue, JGVK has started a beneficiary based micro credit project. Every month, women save money within their SHG. As a result, about Rs. 1,7 million have been saved through this system. The SHGH structure also allows the women to take a loan in banks (Rs. 2.5 millions).
