In 2009-2010 with support from InnoAid, a Denmark based organization; JGVK started working with Kolkata street food vendors to conduct a survey. Based on the study findings, a project was developed and implemented June 2011 to September 2013. JGVK was the Primary Partner for administration and coordination. The two secondary partners Sabuj Sangha & Gana Unnayan Parshad as primary partners was directly involved in the execution of project activities.
700 vendors were the target group.
The objective of the project was to empower a broad spectrum of street food vendors in Kolkata, building capacity to align with National Policy of Urban Street Food Vendors and support the recognition

Major achievements :

4 ToolKits were prepared( Tool Kit 1: Poster& Flex for vendors awareness, Tool Kit 2: Apron for vendors banding, Tool Kit 3: Handbook for vendors awareness, Tool Kit 4: Handbook for stakeholders, Tool Kit 5: Dustbin)
Developed Prototype Kiosk
Formation of SHGs among the vendors and access to fianc from financial institution
